Thank you for your kind email earlier today. I have been a bit torn as to how to respond to Saturday. I had a really good time and it was fun hearing so much about you. You have led quite a fascinating life so far, and it's great to talk with you.

Alas, I need to be honest and say I did not feel things romantically. Sometimes these things cannot be put in words, it is just a gut feeling, and I do feel badly about it. But I also didn't want to pick up the phone over the past couple of days just to say this outright.

That said, I realize it can be difficult to ask for friendships in these situations, but I sincerely mean it when I say I would enjoy going out again and catching up, either the two of us or with friends. I will leave that up to you, but I do mean it and I am not a person to keep a long list of friends.

Again, I am sorry I did not reach out to you earlier, I hope you understand.
